Are you Struggling in your Relationships?
“The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction,
both are transformed.” — Carl Gustav Jung
We know that relationships require effort, honest communication and a mutual understanding to thrive.
Building and maintaining healthy relationships can be a lot of work and its not always easy. Sometimes, having a non judgemental, neutral third party with you can help you navigate/understand any difficulties and challenges you may be both be experiencing.
Why couples therapy?
We understand that relationships can be difficult, we all struggle from time to time in our personal and intimate relationships. We may even start to grow apart, communication breaks down, we start to lead separate lives, unable to navigate or see any way forward.
This may be due to many factors including:
Conflict. Intimacy. Trust. Kids & families. Stressful life events. Finances. Infidelity. Emotional. Sexual dysfunction. Communication issues. Addiction.
Let us try to help you find a way through.
Questions and Answers….
-
Couples counselling or relationship therapy should always be a safe space where you can focus on the issues that are affecting your relationship.
Your therapist’s role is to help you gain insight, to explore and learn different ways of effective communication and resolve any conflicts or issues you may be experiencing. -
The first assessment appointment I will see you together. (However please do note, that in certain circumstances it may be applicable to have a couple of individual sessions, before we start couples work all together, this is to be agreed by all parties). The first session with us all together your therapist will focus on the dynamics of the relationship and further assessments as a couple will be carried out. We meet for an hour or if requested we can extend sessions to an hour and a half or two hours, hourly is generally weekly.
We try to keep to the same day and time, however, we fully appreciate that sometimes this is not possible. We will not see you individually after the initial appointments unless this is agreed between all parties, it is important that you are both able to attend the sessions and on time.

Please be assured, it is never part of our role as therapists to posit blame or have a bias attitude towards either of you. You should never feel judged, nor should your therapist ever take sides.

Relationship’s come in many forms, we don’t exclude or differentiate.
The only time we we would not be able to work with you as a couple, is when there is active physical abuse with in the relationship. We would then advise individual therapy.
